OMNISOPHY: The Highest Philosophy of Spirituality
Omnisophy is the exploration of all spiritual knowledge that exists in order to apply the wisdom in them for self-maturity and evolution.
Omnisophy understands that all religions and spiritual traditions originate from the same ultimate source and have sparks of truth in them. This idea expands upon Omnism which believes that no religion contains all the truth. Omnism is the door that leads into the wide realm of Omnisophy. Though both are interchangeable, Omnisophy is broader.
Omnisophy knows that the knowledge of God, the Source of all things, is too great to be confined to one particular system, faith or doctrine, and that different religions are different ways of understanding, connecting, and expressing the mystery of Ultimate Reality.
Omnisophy explores all spiritual beliefs and philosophies solely on the recognition of the ethics, wisdom, values, and sublime experiences that unite them.
Let us get into the understanding of this word—Omnisophy.
"Omnisophy" is derived from the Latin words "omni," meaning "all," and the Greek word "σοφίαp" (sophia), meaning "wisdom." Omnisophy, therefore, is the pursuit of universal knowledge or wisdom, encompassing all branches of learning and understanding. Though it is synonymous to such concepts as polymathy, as when a person posseses expertise in multiple fields; universalism, another concept embracing a broad range of knowledge and perspectives; and holism, the idea of considering the interconnectedness of all things—through these similarities, Omnisophy rises above these because it places spiritual knowledge—the knowledge of the mysterious—at the pinnacle of its exploration.
If God is omniscient, all-knowing, then God possess all knowledge of everything man knows and yet does not know. We can tap into this Mind of God to advance human knowledge. Spiritual knowledge—knowledge of the mysterious—is the highest knowledge a man can possess, and all is within the Mind of God.
If humans are created in the image of God, the closest to omniscience that humans can arrive at is omnisophy. Omnisophy is the universalist perspective to all human and transcendent knowledge, a state where humans know something fundamental of everything and are able, with this faculty, to divine realities through logic, meditation, and intuition.
Omnisophy can also be seen as a level of being in which a person posseses a broad scope of human knowledge, a 360 degrees view that though may not pick all items within the circle of knowledge, is aware of probabilities—what is, what could be, and what should be. This is not an easy mental level to ascend into for to do so this would mean that a person will have to break the walls created around his or her mind and expose self to other areas of human knowledge out of necessity.
Openmindedness, exposure, and insatiable curiosity are requirements to begin the journey along the path of omnisophy. The intention to learn must be active. Time must be created for learning. Questions must not be evaded. Answers must be considered and allowed to breed more questions. Opinions should be tested in the light of reason. The wider the knowledge of the Omnisophian, the more god-like such a person seems, as this scope of knowledge is not only expected to give him sufficient light but also inspire him to contribute to the evolution of the human race.
It is easy to see that the Omnisophian—the Omnist—is recognised by his openmindedness, insatiable curiosity, broad-ranging interests, interdisciplinary approach to learning, a desire to synthesise knowledge from diverse fields and to understand the interconnectedness of all things.
There are people who have mentally entered this field of the exploration of all wisdom. Some do not give themselves any label but many are beginning to identity with this broader knowledge exploration. This people are the Omnists.
